The Executive Governor of Osun State, His Excellency Asiwaju Senator Nurudeen Ademola Jackson Adeleke, demonstrated visionary leadership today during his visit to UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital. This landmark visit, which coincides with the second anniversary of his administration, was marked by bold commitments to healthcare reform, inspiring gestures of goodwill, and well-deserved recognition.  





Comprehensive Overhaul and Staffing Initiative

During his tour, Governor Adeleke inspected the hospital’s facilities, interacted with patients, and engaged healthcare staff to better understand the challenges facing the institution. He pledged a comprehensive overhaul of infrastructure and announced a massive recruitment drive to address critical staffing gaps across all sectors of the healthcare system.  


Reaffirming his administration’s people-centered approach, the Governor emphasized:  

"Healthcare is the backbone of societal progress. By overhauling infrastructure, investing in human capital, and ensuring access to quality care, we are not only improving lives but securing the future of Osun State."


Empowering Patients and Staff

In a gesture reflecting his compassion and commitment to the well-being of citizens, Governor Adeleke gifted ₦20 million to the hospital staff for their dedication and another ₦20 million to all patients receiving care during his visit. These donations are a testament to his administration's focus on alleviating burdens and motivating the healthcare workforce.  


Grand Patron Recognition by MLS Adeboye Olamide Timothy

A highlight of the event was a ceremonial presentation by MLS Adeboye Olamide Timothy (Hon. Lammy), a respected advocate for healthcare excellence. On behalf of the Young Medical Laboratory Scientists Forum (YMLSF), MLS Adeboye presented the Governor with a ceremonial sash, the official program brochure, and the Certificate of Grand Patron Confirmation.  


This honor, originally conferred on July 25, 2024, during the YMLSF Public Health Lecture and Investiture Ceremony, recognized the Governor’s exceptional contributions to the health sector. Though unable to attend the initial event due to international commitments, Governor Adeleke expressed gratitude for the recognition.  


MLS Adeboye commended the Governor’s visionary leadership, dubbing him the "Imole of the Moment" for his transformative strides. He also appealed for the recruitment of young medical laboratory scientists to bolster primary healthcare services and combat the influx of unqualified personnel in primary health centers.

The Governor was accompanied by a high-profile delegation, underscoring the administration’s unified commitment to healthcare excellence:
